One of Prostate Research Campaign UK's major goals is to provide information and raise awareness of Prostate Diseases.
In 2006 we established a regular programme of free masterclasses on The ABC of Prostate Diseases which have been very well received and attended. The programme consists of four seminars a year taking place in a cycle of eight locations around the UK, repeating every two years.
The seminars are aimed at Practice Nurses, General Practitioners and all Healthcare Professionals involved in the field of prostate care. They will include an overview of the three main prostate diseases, their symptoms, diagnosis and treatment. Recent advances and innovations will be covered as will Quality of Life issues. The speakers, who kindly donate their time to this important cause, are all busy people who are active experts in their field today.
The sequence of locations for the seminars is: Manchester, London, Birmingham, Belfast, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Southampton and Cardiff. The details of the programme for the next year with dates and booking arrangements can be found in the Events Diary.
Prostate Research Campaign UK also funds a programme of travel bursaries for BAUN members to attend these professional training courses: this is administered by the BAUN secretariat.
