Data Protection

Data protection legislation is designed to protect you against any misuse of your personal information, such as your contact details.   It also gives you the right to know how we use this information (usually known as 'data').

The Prostate Research Campaign UK needs to hold a limited amount of information on you to enable us to contact you or to send to you:

  • Publications requested by you.
  • Information on the charity's activities.
  • Information on fundraising for the charity.

We will:

  • Take all necessary action to ensure that your information is kept in a secure system, whether manual or computerised.
  • Ensure that your information is fairly and lawfully processed in accordance with your rights and is not kept longer than is necessary.
  • Ensure the information we hold is accurate, adequate, relevant and not excessive: we will not normally hold what is termed as 'Sensitive Personal Data'.
  • Ensure that your information is not passed to any other organisations, unless required to do so by law.

You have the right to:

  • Apply for a copy of any information we hold on you, and to have any inaccuracies corrected or erased.
  • Be informed of our Data Controller's Name and Address.  Our Data Controller is The Chief Executive and the address is at our office shown below.
  • Seek a description of the information we hold on you: we only hold sufficient information to allow us to send you the materials outlined above.
  • Be informed if any countries outside the European Economic Area (EEA) are in receipt of your information: it is not our intention to send your information to anyone outside the EEA.

Emails

Prostate Research Campaign UK does not keep a database of people who send us emails except in connection with donations and the conduct of our business, nor do we pass on personal details to other people or organisations.

We do not solicit receiving personal information but any personal information you send us about you/your health is covered by the Data Protection Act 1998 and will be kept in accordance with this Act.

Cookies

Prostate Research Campaign UK does not use cookies.

Donations

If you make a donation to Prostate Research Campaign UK through the website, the information you supply about yourself will be kept securely on an internal database for financial purposes.   Your details will not be passed on to any other person or organisation.

Contacting you

You can choose to receive further information from us - principally our Newsletter - by clicking 'Register here'.
You can choose not to receive any further information from us at the time of making a donation by ticking the box on the donation form.
You can cancel or choose not to receive any further information from us at any other time by using the 'Contact Us' form accessible from the box on the left with the words 'no mailing' as the message.
