The funding from Prostate Research Campaign UK helped Mr Cahill visit Paris and gain extensive experience at a centre specializing in laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery.

One particular operation undertaken was laparoscopic prostatectomy; thanks to Mr. Cahill’s experience, the NHS can now offer a better service in SE Thames.
