Prostate Research Campaign UK is delighted to announce a grant award of £40,000 from the Freemasons’ Grand Charity to fund the production of our free information booklets over the next three years.
This support will enable us to continue to provide free information to both the public and health professionals, ensuring we can fulfil our aim to put out as much information as possible to those who need it most. Our four main "Prostate problems?" booklets are re-printed three times a year to allow for amendments and continual revision, confirmed by a medical panel headed by Professor Roger Kirby. As members of the panel and several of the Trustees are specialists in urology and prostate care, they have a unique insight into the needs and views of patients with prostate diseases.
In 2004 one booklet was produced by the charity, with just 3,000 copies printed per year. Increased awareness of prostate diseases, our training partnership with the British Association of Urological Nurses (BAUN) and our free one-day masterclasses established earlier this year have all contributed to a higher demand for the free information we publish – now over 60,000 copies of our booklets are published annually with this number continuing to rise.
Prostate Research Campaign UK is enormously grateful to the Freemasons’ Grand Charity for its support in the fight against all prostate diseases.
