Help us to stop prostate diseases ruining lives

Prostate Medical News

Prostate Research Campaign UK looks for articles which will have a general interest and then carefully précis them into language which lay people and patients can understand.   A few articles having an m on the date line are considered to be of most interest to medical readers.
Although we would be glad to receive any comments, we cannot become involved in the advice and treatment of individual cases.   Our Useful links page will take visitors to several organisations which can provide individual help or advice.

People and Lifestyle

So many people are touched by prostate disease - here we provide links to a few of their stories to inform some and encourage others.
Many diseases are affected by lifestyle and there is much being written about its effect on prostate disease, especially prostate cancer.   The links here lead to recent articles and reports.

Ignorance Isn't Bliss

The Ignorance Isn't Bliss campaign is a patient-led UK national initiative supported by Prostate Research Campaign UK and by an AstraZeneca educational grant. The aim of the campaign is to encourage women to persuade the men in their lives with prostatic symptoms to seek help from their doctors.

The charismatic founder of this campaign, Kit Hobday, sadly died of Prostate Cancer in June 2006, but at his memorial service that September his many friends reaffirmed their determination to continue to support the campaign.   There are special arrangements to accept donations in his memory and cheques should be made payable to "Ignorance Isn't Bliss" and sent to us.   Alternatively, click here to donate to IIB online.
