| BIOFEEDBACK-ASSISTED
PELVIC FLOOR MYSCLE TRAINING AND ELECTRICAL STIMULATION THERAPY
IN PATIENTS WITH CLASS IIIB CHRONIC PAIN SYNDROME - A PILOT STUDY.
Dr. P. Baranowski National Hospital for Nervous Diseases, London. |
Prostatic pain (also known as prostatodynia or chronic prostatitis) has significant implications for the quality of life of the sufferer. The researchers only studied a small (n=8) group of patients but these underwent bio feedback of the tension present in their pelvic muscles.
The patients studied were carefully screened to make sure they were
free of infection but this small study showed that biofeedback reduced
their symptoms. This therapeutic option should be considered in men with
this troublesome condition.
